Adult Hebrew Offerings
Beginner's Hebrew: decoding and phonetics
This Hebrew class is for beginners. Recent and current conversion students are especially encouraged to attend. We will practice decoding and learning the alphabet, phonics, and linking the Hebrew letters, all while keeping the topic relevant to current events, holidays, Israeli culture and other interesting topics.
- 9 sessions - $75/members, $150/non-members
- Sessions are in-person on Thursdays from 6:30-7:15 p.m.
- Unit 1: Feb 15th, 22nd, 29th, March 7th, 14th,
- Unit 2: March 21st, 28th, April 4th, 11th
- Register by February 9
Advanced Modern Hebrew: conversation-based learning
This class is for Hebrew speakers that wish to strengthen their conversational skills. This is perfect for students that wish to strengthen their Hebrew with peers and a teacher. We will look at current events, holidays, Israeli culture, and other topics.

Meet Inbal Lichtenstein, BIC's Hebrew teacher
Inbal was born and raised in Israel and is a native Hebrew speaker. She has an M.Ed from the University of Haifa and 14 years as a learning & development specialist in the IDF leading strategy methods as well as hands-on experience. She is a colleague of the Mandel Institute for Leadership since 2019 and was highly involved in community activity in Jaffa. Since August 2023 she has been living in Ann Arbor with her spouse and 3 children within the framework of her spouse's Shlichut of the WZO. She teaches Hebrew at the HDS in which she creates curiosity and love for the Hebrew language. She believes in a positive learning atmosphere and personal connection that can help achieve your language goals!
